LAPKO NEWS
Acclaimed alternative band Lapko will start the recordings of their fourth album in early July. The band will work on the yet untitled piece, due in the beginning of 2010, at The Clubhouse Studios in New York, USA for a good month.
The album will be produced, recorded and mixed by top producer D. James Goodwin, well known for his work with Thursday, Norah Jones and The Bravery. Goodwin visited Lapko in Finland in May-June, when they worked on the album’s pre-production at the band’s rehearsal space.

MR. BIG (USA)
Hardrock's super line-up Mr. Big arrive at Finland on their reunion tour. The band will play circa two-hour set of hardrock evergreens at Nosturi on September 6th.

CHUCK RAGAN (USA) + SCOTT KELLY (USA)
Hot Water Music vocalist Chuck Ragan plays two shows in Finland in autumn. The first gig takes place at Lutakko’s Kickstart in Jyväskylä on September 18th and the second one in Bar Loose in Helsinki the day after. Both shows will be opened by domestic Jaakko & Jay.
Neurosis vocalist Scott Kelly plays two acoustic solo gigs in Finland in summer. On June 25th, the artist shares the stage of Tavastia with Swedish Candlemass and on July 2nd, he performs at Klubi, Turku along with domestic 5 Bars.

RAISED FIST (SWE)
Swedish hardcore band Raised Fist return to Finland soon after their last weekend's gig at Provinssirock. The band first play a club show at Nosturi on September 25th and perform at Scooprock in Mikkeli the day after.
We are also happy to announce that The Haunted (SWE) will play at Scooprock in Mikkeli on September 26th and at Klubi, Turku on September 27th.

BADDIES (UK)
British indie rock band Baddies will play their first Finnish club gig in Nosturi on October 21st after visiting Provinssirock last weekend. The evening will be opened by domestic Cosmobile.

COSMOBILE SIGNS WITH FULLSTEAM
Helsinki based indie band Cosmobile has inked a recording deal with Fullsteam Records. The first single from their yet unnamed upcoming album will be released later this summer, followed up by the album release in the fall. During its relatively short lifespan, the band has already shared stages with bands such as Yeasayer, Oh No Ono, Frog Eyes, Deerhoof and Devotschka.
A new track called Curtain from the upcoming album is now streaming at the the band's MySpace page.

STREET DOGS (USA) & CIVET (USA)
American punk rock bands Street Dogs and Civet arrive at Nosturi on October 19th. Tickets are now available at box offices Tiketti and Lippupalvelu.

NEW SHOWS
Thrash metal band Municipal Waste (USA) is coming to Tavastia with Disfear (SWE) and Rotten Sound on September 12th.
Indie rock act The Dodos (USA) will hit the same venue on July 3rd. The stage will be warmed up by Vuk and Cosmobile.

PITKÄ KUUMA KESÄ NEWS
The Pitkä Kuuma Kesä program is now finalized. Latest additions to the program are Canadian electro band Crystal Castles as well as quirky indie act Rubik, ska/reggae outfit The Capital Beat, hyped electropop group Le Corps Mince De Francoise, twisted rock band Risto, punk rock act Anal Thunder and soulful rock band Damn Seagulls.

THE DEATH SET (USA) + FESTIVAL NEWS
Fullsteam and Club Misf*ts are happy to announce that electro punk group The Death Set (USA) is coming to Redrum, Helsinki on July 23rd.
We are also proud to present Vampire Weekend (USA) at Flow Festival and Therapy? (UK) at Jurassic Rock.

BLITZEN TRAPPER (USA)
American indie band Blitzen Trapper arrive at Finland for the first time to play at Tavastia on August 11th. Recording for Sub Pop, the band mix americana, folk rock, masculine Lynyrd Skynyrd riffs and indie pop.

PROTEST THE HERO (CAN)
Canadian hardcore band Protest The Hero play two gigs in Finland in early autumn. They perform at Lutakko liekeissä festival in Jyväskylä on August 22nd and at Nosturi, Helsinki the next day.

THE MONOTONIX (IL)
Israeli garage metal trio The Monotonix arrive at Finland for the first time. The band play at Liberté, Helsinki on June 5th and at Dynamo, Turku on June 6th. If you don't know the band yet, click here for awesome live clip.

FESTIVAL NEWS
Fullsteam is proud to announce a bunch of new festival additions. Flow Festival's line-up will be completed by adorable Jenny Wilson (SWE) and indie acts The Big Pink (UK) and Handsome Furs (CAN). Ruisrock will witness First Aid Kit's (SWE) first visit to Finland and present domestic acts Callisto and The Capital Beat.

FOUR METAL BANDS TO NOSTURI
American metal groups Chimaira, Unearth, Throwdown and Dååth arrive at Finland in autumn. The four bands play at Nosturi on September 22nd.
Steen1 has been confirmed to support Ghostface Killah at Nosturi on May 27th.

PITKÄ KUUMA KESÄ NEWS
Fullsteam is proud to present three additions to Pitkä kuuma kesä event. Saturday, June 27th, will be strengthened by skate punk band Face To Face (USA) and psychedelic rock group The Soundtrack of Our Lives (SWE), and Sunday, June 28th, by mash-up pioneer Girl Talk (USA). More information here.

THE EMOCORE INVASION TOUR 2009
Swedish emocore bands Intohimo and Saving Joshua arrive at Finland for two gigs in June as part of their The Emocore Invasion Tour 2009. The first show takes place at Semifinal in Helsinki on June 6th and the next one at Klubi in Turku on June 7th.
Swedish singer-songwriter Loney Dear's concert on May 22nd has been moved from Tavastia to Korjaamo due to scheduling reasons. Bought tickets are valid as such for the new venue.

CHARTS, CALLISTO NEWS & P.O.S (USA)
We are proud to announce that Ismo Alanko Teholla's dvd Lava debuted #1 on the Finnish music dvd chart and Disco Ensemble's ep Back on the MF Street #3 on the Finnish single chart. Order your copies here.
Callisto's European tour has been forced to cancel due to lead singer Jani Ala-Hukkala's appendicitis. He has now been operated and is currently on strong medication. Fortunately, Jani's condition is stable, but his elevated CRP requires close monitoring and running more tests over the weekend. Read more here.
American hiphop artist P.O.S arrives at Finland for two gigs in June. The first show takes place at Gloria, Helsinki on June 10th and the second one at Klubi, Tampere the next night. Gloria's stage will be warmed up by Giant Räbät feat. Laineen Kasperi & Rauhatäti.

The bills of both Pitkä kuuma kesä concerts on June 27-28 have been strengthened with a great bunch of new acts: alternative music pioneer The Melvins (USA), singer-songwriter Frank Turner (UK), politically active underground rapper Immortal Technique (USA), Grammy awarded Henry Rollins Spoken Word (USA), alternative hip hop duo Atmosphere (USA), rising indierock group The Temper Trap (AU) and domestic rap forerunner Asa & Jätkäjätkät.
